For years, I thought I was the problem.

Being 4'11", every blazer swallowed me whole. Every dress needed alterations. Sleeves covered my hands, waistlines sat at my hips, and hems dragged along the ground.

Like so many petite women, I spent years paying extra to alter clothes or simply settling for pieces that almost fit.

Eventually, I got tired of settling.

I stopped asking:

"Why doesn't this fit me?"

and started asking:

"Why wasn't it designed for women like me in the first place?"

The truth is that most corporate wear is designed for the mass market and the so-called "average" body type. If you don't fit into that category, you're often left behind.

So, I decided to create the pieces I could never find for extra petite women like me.

Elegant Ensembles was born from a simple belief: 

Petite women deserve clothing that fits beautifully from the start.

Elegant Ensembles is an independent fashion label founded in Melbourne by a petite woman, for petite women.
